23 -Cleveland, OH   OROC (OutRun Ovarian Cancer)  5th Annual  5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Family Fun Run.  Rally begins at 8:00 a.m.  Run/Walk starts and finishes at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.  In support of ovarian cancer awareness, bring your family and friends and join us on the most rockin'  5K course in Northeast Ohio.  We'll have live music, family activities, prize drawings and great t-shirts.  Ovarian cancer survivors will be honored and will receive a special gift.  For more information go to http://www.oroc.org, or  http://www.hermescleveland.com,  or call 440.915.5388

SEPTEMBER 2008

4-8, - Gold Creek, MT Camp Mak-A-Dream 12th Annual Ovarian Cancer Survivor's Retreat. This retreat is held annually at Camp Mak-A-Dream in association with the Ovarian Cancer Survivor's Foundation.  Women with ovarian cancer who are in any stage of cancer therapy are welcome. Registration for the five-day retreat is limited to a maximum of 65 women on a first come, first serve basis. Fee for the 2008 retreat will be $150.00 for each participant. The reduced cost, as well as a limited number of scholarships, are possible through the Ovarian Cancer Survivor's Foundation underwriting a substantial portion of each participant's registration fee.

·                      Women who are currently undergoing cancer treatment are welcome.

·                      Medical staff are available during the retreat.

Transportation to Montana for these retreats is not included in the registration fee; however, if you are flying into Missoula, Montana, we will pick you up at the Missoula airport and transport you to and from the camp facility in Gold Creek (which is approximately 65 miles east of Missoula).

14 - Morristown, NJ  The Kaleidoscope of Hope Foundation Annual Morris County Walkathon will take place on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at the Loantaka Brook Reservation, (South St. entrance, Morristown, NJ). Registration and warm-up at 8:15 - 9:00 AM and the walkathon begins at 9:15 am. 14 – Studio City, CA Join the Ovarian Cancer Coalition of Greater California and Travis Stork from the Bachelor and CBS’s new fall show “The Doctors” at the 10th Annual 3K/5KWalk/Run, 10K Run and Kiddie Run for awareness and hope to benefit Ovarian Cancer. 27 - Avon, NJ  Kaleidoscope of Hope Foundation Annual Avon/Monmouth County Walkathon will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2008 Registration and warm-up at 8:15 - 9:00 AM and the walkathon begins at 9:15 AM . The walk will take place 600 Ocean Avenue, Avon-by-the-Sea on the Boardwalk, Avon and will include one, three and five-mile routes. 27 - Des Moines, IA In memory of loved ones lost to and in honor of those surviving ovarian cancer, the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition – Iowa Chapter will hold its Third Annual NOCC-Iowa Candlelight Vigil at 6:30 p.m. at Nollen Plaza, downtown.  There will be a brief program, music by Ankeny musician Mary McAdams, and an opportunity for those attending to announce the name of their loved one.  The vigil is held rain or shine and lasts about an hour.  Open to the public.  No registration required.  For additional information, contact the NOCC-IA resource line at 515-289-0871 or visit www.ovarian.org and click on Iowa.

The Women's Cancer Retreat is offered to women who have been diagnosed with any form of cancer and is not diagnosis specific.
